Men’s Health Round Table
On June 16th, MONAC (Middle Belt Association of Nigeria in Calgary) hosted a memorable Men's Health Roundtable in celebration of Father’s Day. The event combined camaraderie, celebration, and a thought-provoking discussion on men’s health led by esteemed professionals Dr. Umaru Ali and Dr. Emma Gye.
The health talk focused on key topics relevant to men over 40, including:
- Cardiovascular Health: Understanding the risks of heart disease and hypertension and adopting lifestyle changes to mitigate them.
- Prostate Health: Recognizing symptoms of prostate issues, the importance of regular checkups, and available treatment options.
- Mental Health Awareness: Addressing the stigma around men’s mental health, recognizing signs of stress and depression, and the importance of seeking help.
- Preventive Care Strategies: Emphasizing regular health screenings, balanced diets, physical activity, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
